He also aims to create music that he mainly attracted to which is hip-hop RnB fusion and post-rock electronic ambient music. His ideas of composing and presenting music is not of how "good" the playing was but rather the efficiency of beautiful noises that we can create and appreciate. In this piece "Gnomic Reflex" was intended to potray a scene of an inside a person's mind. The sound was made with a virtual electronic music modules using a DAW. The sound design was partly random as he picked only the suitable sounds to make it blend with the project settings. In the future, he hopes to widen his skills in composing and be able to share his music to audiences not just from Malaysia but to other country that might spark interest to his sounds.

Raja Mohd Aliff | Peka III Merpati
‘Peka III - Merpati’ is a piece for amplified classical guitar with fixed media . It is the 3rd piece of a series of compositions illustrating different kinds of auditory sensitive experiences. Peka is a Malay word for ‘sensitive’, while Merpati means ‘Pigeon’. This piece depicts the composer’s interpretation of pigeons’ auditory experiences which is known to differ from humans' and found to be extremely sensitive to sound. The amplified classical guitar represents the pigeon’s inner voice and the fixed media portrays the sounds around the pigeon. The original sound samples used for the fixed media were recorded by the composer and pre-manipulated using a Digital Audio Workstation software. Whereas the sounds produced by the amplified classical guitar are manipulated live with effects from the same software connected by a contact microphone. ‘Peka III’ has six contrasting sections which represent the sound experience of the location where the pigeon lands (Forest, Construction site, Factory, Highway road, School and Public park). The composer hopes listeners would enjoy his interpretation of the sound world experienced by the feathered creatures sharing the world we live in.
Raja Mohamad Alif is a music composition lecturer at Faculty of Music, University Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. He has acquired a Master of Music Degree from Royal Holloway, University of London, focusing on music composition under the tutelage of Ed Bennett and Christopher Mayo. Prior to that he studied at UiTM, graduating with a Vice Chancellors Award for his bachelor’s degree in music composition where he studied under the guidance of Ross James Carey. Throughout his career as an educator and composer, several of his compositions were performed by various professional performers from around the world including performers from Vietnam, Russia, United Kingdom, United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia. The compositional works by composers such as Giacinto Scelsi, Morton Feldman, Panayiotis Kokoras, Francois Bayle and Dr. Tazul Izan Tajuddin are among the few which has been a great influence towards his composition development and style. His compositions have always been driven by extra-musical elements, are often based on Malaysian historical subjects, uses unconventional musical notations and focuses on timbre to paint his sound world.

Honeyleen | Thoughts
‘Thoughts’ is a solo piece for Bonang. The idea is to imitate a person’s thoughts when he/she is thinking too hard in a different situation which refers to the weather sound, lightning and rain. There’s a lot of pop up in their mind which the composer tried to imitate using some extended techniques on Bonang. There are several types of extended techniques used by the composer such as rubbing the Bonang surface, drop coins inside the Bonang, bow the Bonang using Marimba soft mallet, bowing the Bonang using double bass bow, and hit the edge of the Bonang using triangle beater. The composer uses FL Studio to change the sound and to imitate a person’s thoughts.

Saiful Hazman |Underwater Cave
Underwater Cave is an electronic experimental music which consists of multiple different sounds created using only a glass bottle. The idea of the piece is to create/imitate a sound of an underwater cave. The story I imagine when hearing this piece is a group of expeditioners discover a cave in an underwater sea. So these expeditioners explore the cave, collecting samples in the cave for their research. So in this piece we can hear the sound of 'water', 'footstep', 'knocking' (hammering rock), scratching, blowing sound (unknown weird sound). Basically, to produce these sounds from a glass bottle, I use other materials to contact with the glass bottle such as water(fill the bottle, move and shake it), plastic (step the bottle with plastic , create a stepping sound) and pencil (hit the bottle), key (insert in bottle and shake it) and also by blowing the tip of the bottle.
The form that I use for this piece is a canon form. Basically, I just introduced the sounds orderly in sequence. These sounds were recorded using condenser miscrophone and using cubase as my DAW to edit, arrange and EQ-ing each sounds. The whole sound was recorded in an air conditioned room.
Saiful Hazman bin Mohammad Hatta was born on 25th January 1996 in Kuala Lumpur. His father was a key figure in exposing young Saiful to music and has supported his son's ambitions to this day. He began taking guitar lessons at the age of 14. Saiful studies at The Faculty of Music of UiTM, Shah Alam, majoring in Classical Guitar under the tutelage of Mr Ridza Mubarak, Dr Nathan Fischer and Miss Chua May Ling. Saiful has participated in 2 classical guitar competitions, namely the Tarrega Malaysia Open Classical Guitar Competition 2016 at Tarrega Guitar House, Klang and the Valeria International Guitar Competition Festival IV in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. In addition, he has had masterclasses with some of the world's renowned classical guitarists such as Samuel T. Klemke (Germany), Dr. Andrew Zohn (USA), Matthew Mcallister (Scottland), Dr Jonathan Paget(Australia), Dr Paul Cesarczyk (Poland) and many more. He further his studies in UiTM taking degree in composition. Studying under Jessica Cho, his composition style are more towards pop music, ambient music, electronic art music and many more. He's interested to thoroughly study Islamic Sufism music and coupled with his knowledge of composition, he hopes to compose music inspired by Islamic Sufism.
