Ainolnaim (lume) is currently a freelance pianist-composer, and a full-time faculty member in music composition department at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Faculty of Music, Malaysia. Ainol has written a range of compositions and most of his works consist of both local and non-local traditional elements in contemporary style music for media and non-media works. He had participated the International Music Institute Darmstadt Summer Course 2012 where he had the chance to world premiere his piece C-lat in Cage+ Project and lessons with Brian Ferneyhough, Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf, Georges Arpeghisand Hildegard Westerkamp. His first electroacoustic piece, Badang!!!! for string quartet and live electronics was successfully world premiered by Asasello Quartet at WDR3

Cologne, Germany for Acht Brücken Music Festival 2012. He was further recognized as a composer when some of his music has gained several places in music composition competitions and selected for various performances across many countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, Portugal, Germany, United Kingdom etc. In recent years, Ainol had participated Asian Composers League Festival and Conference in 2014 and received 2nd prize Young Composers Award for his piece, Fragments I for B-flat Trumpet Duo, which was world premiered at Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall, Japan. His latest 2016 piece, Nadi Bumi for Amplified Alto Recorder awarded with 3rd prize for New Recorder Music Festival 2016 and world premiered in September 2016 at Luasanne, Switzerland.
Ng Chor Guan is a Malaysian composer, creator, sound designer, active thereminist, improviser, educator, artistic director and co-founder of TOCCATA studio. His artistic vision is forward and transformative, featured works include: Space Age (2010-2013), a space-transformative interdisciplinary performance, and Mobile Phone Orchestra (2011), the latter a boundary-pushing performance that has been performed in Bristol, Napoli, Townsville, also in South Korea as part of the opening ceremony of the 7th global RCE conference organized by UNICEF. An internationally acclaimed composer, Guan is part of OneBeat programme, initiated by U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Guan has also created original works and performed the theremin in more than 30 cities across the world in varying forms of collaboration. His notable interactions include improvisational sessions with Pina Bausch’s Tanztheatre Wuppertal (Germany), composer and performer for interdisciplinary performances with the Light Surgeons (U.K.), and as a music director and composer for Twilight – 30th anniversary festival of Dancenorth (Australia), recently won 2016 Australian Dance Award. His recent and ongoing project, ‘2020’, is a five years initiative with a focus on multidisciplinary performance featuring ideas of change and time travel. www.toccatastudio.com

Frank Gratkowski is a free lance saxophonist, clarinettist, improviser and composer currently living in Berlin, Germany. He studied Saxophone at the Kölner Hochschule für Tanz und Musik (Cologne Music Conservatory) where he has been teaching since more than 20 years. Gratkowski released more than 30 CDs under his name and appears on many more as a sideman. His musical range is quite limitless and includes experimental music, jazz, improvised music, contemporary classical music, rock and electronic music. Hasnizam Abdul Wahid His main interest is in electroacoustic music. He has been a first-prize winner in the residency category in the Bourges 2001 Electroacoustic Music Competition, was awarded a Mention during the L’espace du Son 2002 Competition in Brussels, and received a Pre-Selection of Jury for his work Rahah in the Electroacoustic Sonic Art Works category in Bourges 2003 and a Pre- Selection of Jury in Bourges 2005 for his piece Interplay. During his early years with Birmingham ElectroAcoustic Sound Theatre (BEAST), he attended various electroacoustic music composition master classes, lecture series and seminars, among those are Erik Ona, Bernard Pamergiani, Trevor Wishart and Francis Dhomont.

Most of his works, represent his interest in exploring the domain of sounds. As a scholar and among early electroacoustic composers in Malaysia, he plays a key role in introducing electroacoustics in Malaysia. He has participated in various national and international festivals as well as competitions such as Bourges, Emphirical Soundings, Musicacoustica, Asea(r)n as well as Spectra. He is currently residing at the Institute of Design and Innovation, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Sarawak, East Malaysia (also known as Borneo), Malaysia. Among his other works include exploring telemusic, through ‘Asian Telemusic Concert’, a collaborative online real- time performance with collaborators from Beijing in 2011 and awarded 3rd Prize Winner for his piece ‘Mikro II’ in Musicacoustica – Beijing 2012 Electronic Music Composition Competition. He is also a member of Spectromorphology interest group, exploring notation and representation in sound domain, working together with Andrew Blackburn, Jean Penny, and he also a Malaysia representative for Southeast Asia Directors of Music (SEADOM)
Jean-David Caillouët is a French sound and visual artist. Mixing the old with the new, his work often combines together various
disciplines such as film, music (acoustic & electronic), choreography and poetry in a live performance context. He has performed internationally, playing well respected festivals such as Celtic Connections, the Edinburgh Fringe or the Big Mountain festival in Thailand or KLEX in Malaysiahas As an instrumentalist and producer, he has collaborated with artists as varied as the composers Kimho Ip from Hong Kong and Anothai Nitibhon from |
Thailand, the multi instrumentalist Anant Narkkong, Cape Coast based musician Kwesi Quayson, Ojos de Brujo in Barcelona, the acclaimed Scottish Indie band Aberfeldy and the Celtic singer Heather MacLeod. He has produced soundtracks for films, animations, theatre and dance. His work has been performed in the Royal Opera House and the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and his installation projects have been exposed in places as varied as the historical caves of Kent’s Cavern in the UK, Quai Branly in Paris, the Angkor Temples in Cambodia or Bangkok’s Art and Culture Center (BACC). He is also a very active curator and event organiser, contributing to the musical and artistic scene through Zoo, a venue promoting an eclectic mix of musical practice or more recently co-curating the AS(EAR)N exhibition and series of events at Museum Siam, celebrating the rich cultural diversity of Southeast Asia from a sonic perspective. Exploring the boundaries between tradition and innovation, many of his recent projects involve aspects of Southeast Asian music combined with the new aesthetics of digital media. Some of those projects and their accompanying papers were recently presented at international symposiums in Taiwan (Tunghai University International Conference), Bangkok (PGVIM International Symposium 2014 & 2015) and Austria (EPARM 2015). He has studied at Brussels Royal Conservatory, Dartington College of Arts in England and completed his PhD at Edinburgh University in Scotland. He currently lectures in music composition and sonic arts at Silpakorn University and is a faculty member at PGVIM in Bangkok, Thailand.
James Dooley is a digital artist and creative coder based in Birmingham, UK, James’ performance and installation works focus on creating a sense of place—a meta-environment—and have been exhibited internationally at festivals including: Electric Nights (GR) Slingshot (USA), Vuotociclo (ITA), Streaming Festival (online). Influenced by complexity science, his work examines the interaction between simple elements acting autonomously and coalescing to produce emergent forms. Recent and current projects include: formuls, the algo-synth sonic performance environment; the release of his debut EPsentryiseasierthantheexit_entry and entryiseasierthantheexit_exit; and esthesis, an interactive performance environment where hand gestures sculpt sonficiations and visualisations (AHRC funded Transforming Transformation commission). James' work is supported by Integra Lab, where he is currently artist in residence.
Balandino is a PhD Student at Integra Lab, Birmingham City University (UK). He accomplished his undergraduate studies at A.Casella Conservatoire of L’Aquila (Italy), with a thesis regarding the use and development of the Tangible User Interface (TUI) Metis. During his undergraduate studies, he has worked at the Centro Ricerche Musicali di Roma (CRM) as artistic and informatics assistant for sound art installation realised in Italy, Turkey, Egypt and Peru. At the same time he was involved in national and international productions as sound engineer in Europe. In 2013, he worked on the development of Integra Live at the Integra Lab, where he is now a fully funded Ph.D. student since 2014. His current work is focused on the interaction design of a system to drive object based audio processing using gestural control. In addition to drive his research, he is currently involved in various project such as Music Bricks, Maker Monday and Star Node.
